Don't use bitlocker

This is pretty obvious in retrospect, but the CPU in the Stream 7 isn't powerful enough to handle device encryption without significantly degrading performance. At this point I'm really just using my tablet as a clock radio, but turning off bitlocker made it a much zippier clock radio!

Did you check after the encryption was completed, for first few hours until encryption is completed the system remains slow.

Bitlocker had been turned on several weeks earlier, and the system had been active on AC (doing its job as a clock radio 24/7), so encryption was definitely complete.

Turning off bitlocker made a huge difference.

I should have mentioned that this is with Windows 10 (16299). Maybe with 8.1 things are different.
