Cannot change SIM pin

I accidentally locked the SIM card when I was messing around with the settings on my HTC Trophy (Verizon). It said I had 10 attempts to enter the PUK (PIN Unlock Key), but I exited out of that screen. Now, there is a "Change SIM Pin" button in the phone settings screen, but pressing it does nothing. I can't get back to the PIN or PUK entry screen. This is a brand new phone. Has anyone else had this issue or know how to resolve it? If not, I guess I'll have to go to Verizon and get a new SIM card.
