Rename photos

I like to give photos descriptive names soon after taking them, so I don't forget where they were taken etc. Is this possible in WP7? So far I only seem to be able to rename them when I share them.

I gather from the sound of the crickets that it isn't possible. Unfortunate omission.

Do you upload them to SkyDrive? Maybe you can do it there shortly after? I know you can add a tag as you upload them.

Yes, you can rename them on SkyDrive or anywhere else. But not on the device, apparently. I regard this as a flaw.

Example: In January I spent two weeks in Taiwan and took almost 300 pictures with my BlackBerry (I didn't have the Radar yet). Many of these photos were in places with names that I couldn't remember for long. I renamed them as I went along, while the memory was fresh. I didn't upload them anywhere until I returned to the US.

I couldn't have done this with the Radar.

This is a highly requested missing feature. I hope they add this in with Apollo.

in windows store there is a app "files" by microsoft corporation

in this app there is option for renaming files just don't change the file extension (.JPG .MP4....)
it works good on my lumia 925
