This is really speculation on my part, so bear with me for a second.

Windows Phone's core philosophy is really about living your life easier, faster and better, and social integration is a big part of that. Games form a natural extension of this philosophy.

Now, out of the big 3 console companies, only MS has never come out with a dedicated portable gaming device. However, the lackluster sales of the 3DS and the PS Vita has shown that in truth, smartphones are the new gaming handheld device. Games, ranging from the intensive such as Nova 3, Mirror's Edge and Alice: Madness Returns, to the light-hearted Draw Something, Scramble with Friends and Wordament to name but a few, appeals to a wide range of people.

We have seen attempts at such phones being made. Xperia Play was an attempt for Sony to leverage its gaming legacy, but in truth, the first serious attempt at a gaming phone was made at the premier WP partner, Nokia, with its N-Gage phone. It didn't succeed, in part due to its unwieldy design, and lack of serious gaming titles.

Now, however, the Xbox legacy, the shared core and with Nokia's design chops and a product gap, it is entirely possible that a gaming phone can come out. Using MicroSD cards as a delivery system for games, it can be a very plausible concept for a XBox-certified gaming phone.

What do you guys think?
