Hi guys. since HTC has announced the 8X and 8S. it clearly means that HTC is much more focused on Wp as well. But could this mean that HTC will relase more Wp8/7.8 devices more frequently like how HTC does with the Desire Series. They said that they are going 50/50 on android and Windows phone,

Another simple one.

The sales of the initial batch of WP8 devices will set trend.

If they sell billions of 8S's, HTC will go low end. If they sell billions of 8X's, they'll go high end. If they sell very little, HTC will stay with their policy of doing as little as possible.

The only other factor is Nokia. Is HTC sales are rubbish, but Nokia sell like hotcakes, then maybe HTC will look at actually supporting WP8 properly (not just hardware, but software/support too).

Well, they did just release the One X+...

And Android is still king for now. So HTC's move from now is important. After all, Nokia's all-in strategy with its support and hardware is reaping mindshare. HTC's hedging as a small company will make it seem undecided and bad for support, which will get more important as more smartphone users are due for an upgrade and do not get HTC's direction.

I wouldn't be surprised if all of the OEMs released new devices each time Microsoft added support for something in the spec. If Microsoft adds support for quad core... new round of devices. If they add support for 1080p... new round of devices.

We saw the same thing earlier this year when Microsoft added LTE. We got a new round of devices mid-cycle from every OEM.
