Contacts won't show in the People Hub

Hey all I'm sorry my first post would be one asking for help but I have had my Lumia 800 for about 20 minutes :p

I have been adding contacts to the phone however on the All section on the people hub shows no contacts what so ever and does not show when I search for them, they do show when I press them on recent phonecalls and on the people tab on live.com so they are getting saved somewhere. I feel like I'm missing something obvious and having a phone with no contacts to access is driving me a little mad.

I managed to fix the problem, factory resetting and then starting again from scratch seems to do the trick.
