Low resolution and snap app

I am expecting many of you guys who had older Windows 7 laptop or PCs have upgraded to Windows 8. Have you noticed how you cannot use "snap app" functionality? There used to be 2 registry hacks that allowed to work around this in previous builds. However consumer build AND final build don't allow it.

Anyone who finds/knows a work around, please share?

Then laptop won't be a laptop. I cannot imagine having a new monitor on my lap!
