I have got an Exchange email at work but at present can't connect directly via my mobile device. I am not bothered about email but would like to get my calendar appointments on my phone. Previously I was syncing through Outlook 2010, Office Online and a gmail calendar. However, this option has been removed in 2013, the only sync options is to publish via webdav. So not sure of the best/easiest way for me to get my appointments from work onto my WP8 device. Anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks

How about you connect your exchange account natively?

As mentioned that isn't an option just yet.

    Thanks

Can't you use the same settings you use when setting up in outlook 2013?

I can't connect to my work exchange server from my mobile. Outlook 2013 is at work. I used to export from Outlook 2010 from work machine online and then subscribe from my mobile. That is no longer an option in 2013.

Can you use the Hotmail connector and sync the calendar associated with your Live/Outlook.com account?

Pretty sure I won't have permissions to install that but will check. Does it simply allow you to publish your work calendar to Live/Outlook without pulling anything from there?

Create an outlook.com account, and copy/paste the calendars between the two accounts. It's how I manage my own calendars. In fact I've made the Outlook.com calendar the default one now. It syncs seamlessly between the desktops I use and the mobile. Not ideal from a security standpoint but it's how MS wants things to be done.

Your employer won't allow mobile devices on the Exchange server? Is that because of security policies or you haven't tried? They can push security settings through EAS if that's the concern.

I don't understand what your issue is. On your phone, go into emails+accounts and add an Outlook account. Our work has very high security because we handle credit card data (PCI compliance) and I have no issue setting up the account at work. Syncs my calendar etc beautifully.

Security policies are in place to prevent this. As I said, I was getting around this by syncing online but this functionality has been removed in 2013.

Can you add an outlook.com account to your outlook 2013 client? Then you can view both calendars in outlook and the outlook.com will sync to your phone. This is what I do. It sounds like you have pretty strict lockdowns in place so probably won't be possible

What does the rest of your company do to sync calendars? To me a lot of companies are unnecessary locked down. Its kind of ludicrous that this is blocked so heavily.

MobileIron will be an option if I am happy to have it installed on my phone. In the mean time I just want to get my calendar into my WP, I don't even care if there is a manual step involved so long as it is quick and reliable. I am a bit annoyed Microsoft pulled the publish option from 2013 really.

Maybe setting up your Hotmail/Outlook.com email account in Outlook 2013 and duplicate your work calendar to that one so it will sync to your phone that way?

Crazy that they (your company) would allow you to publish your calendar but not permit Exchange Activesync. Stupid policy, if you ask me. What industry do you work in? How large is the company?

They will allow it by installing software on your phone and sign up to a heavy worded usage policy. I don't want access to everything, I simply want my calendar appointments.
