Read it again.
And if you still come to the same conclusion read it again.
and if you STILL dont get it.. the article says 18 months because then WP8 will be bumped upto WP9 and then support for WP9 will start

You obviously missed the point of the article. The point is SOME phones will be migrated over to WP9 IF and that's a big IF the major U.S. Carriers support it.

FYI, Microsoft promised ATT that original Samsung Focus and Focus S owners on 7.5 will get the 7.8 update, then Microsoft and ATT released a statement saying those headsets will not get the update.

Wtf are talking about? If WP8 phones don't get upgraded to WP9, MS will **** a lot of people off. The only reason WP7 didn't upgrade to WP8 is because the core kernels are completely different. WP8 is built on the same kernel as Windows 8 and the new Xbox. Its far more future friendly.

This has already been discussed a billion times.

This was known months ago.

Plus this thread has already taken a negative turn.

And just to clear confusion

WP8 support ending in 18 months =/= WP8 users not being upgraded to WP9 (which would refresh the 18 months support)
