Is there a way to do this? I would like to save a few webpages to read when I am in an airplane?

UC Browser has recently updated with "View it later" option. I think it's what you want. (I haven't tested this functionality yet). You can download it from Windows Phone Store: UC Browser | Windows Phone Apps+Games Store (United States)

Also if you have a Nokia Lumia smartphone, you may try Nokia Xpress browser (It's Lumia exclusive on Windows Phones). It has the save functionality. Nokia Xpress also helps you to save bandwidth. You can find it here in the Windows Phone Store: Nokia Xpress | Windows Phone Apps+Games Store (United States)

Looking for the same. Can anyone tell me such a technique in the default browser?

You can do this with webStore - this will download sets of pages, following links through to whatever depth you specify, choose whether or not you want images, refresh downloads automatically (for news sites). Just search for webStore in the marketplace.
