Need Help With This

On my Lumia 822 when I go to settings and then email+accounts, under my Microsoft account it says "attention required". Tapping on it takes me to a sign in page for my hotmail account. Aren't my Microsoft and hotmail passwords the same? I tried using my MS password but it keeps saying that it's incorrect. Any ideas?

Are you signing in with your hotmail username and password?

Did you recently enable 2 step authentication? If so go to your account ( login.live.com ) and under security click get app password and enter it into your phone and anything else that stopped logging in. Hope this helps.
