email usability issue

I have a Nokia Lumia 800 and I recently updated the phone to 7.10.8862.144 and I like the changes. However there is a serious issue with email usability and the profile color scheme. It might seem trivial but it is an issue.
The theme colors are used in the email application and the unread mail is shown in the theme color against white background. I am having a hard time distinguishing between read and unread mail because colors such as olive, steel and generally most other colors are not easily discernible against white background. This is also different from any other email application including hotmail. Please urgently do something here. Read and unread email should be easily discernible, please use something other than theme color there.

Have you tried using a colour such as cyan, cobalt, indigo or crimson?

I use the cyan theme, and I do not have any trouble telling which emails are read/unread.
