Camera roll Skydrive sync/backup relationship?

Camera Roll appears to act like a one-way sync/backup such that once copied to my SkyDrive I can delete any picture from my phone (freeing up space) but not losing it on SkyDrive. I just want to verify this is designed behavior before I start cleaning up picture that I don't need to keep on my phone but want to keep in SkyDrive?

If so, I'm glad MS designed it this way rather than as a two-way sync which would delete them from SkyDrive if I deleted them from my phone.

You are correct. I have a photo showing in Skydrive that is no longer on my phone. As well as photo on my phone that is no longer on Skydrive. So it syncs them one way. Rather nice if you ask me since as you say you could delete photos off the camera to save space, yet still retain those photos.
