Outlook/Email sent from desktop missing

Microsoft is very proud of how the conversations work in the email/outlook client.
And I like it, but apparently it only works with mail sent from the phone itself, because if I respond to an email from a computer the sent message doesn't sync to the conversation on the phone. I can find the sent message if I go into the folder, but it is not categorized under the conversation.
This becomes especially irritating if I have responded once or twice in a conversation from the phone, and then pick the conversation up on the computer. Suddenly the conversation on the phone is useless.

Does anyone have a solution for this? Or must we live with this huge annoyance?

What kind of email are you using on the desktop? If you are using POP3, that's a limitation of the protocol. What is sent from a desktop client will never show up on a mobile device.

I was using Gmail, but recently I switched to Outlook.com because I thought it was a problem with Gmail...

Your desktop probably writes "Aw:" instead of "Re:" or something else or vice versa. If so, try to change it.

I have the same issue, using Outlook 2010 and the Hotmail connector. It is annoying

Are you using the desktop version of outlook or outlook.com?

I'm using outlook.com...
