Hi Friends...

Am looking to gift Lumia phone to my brother.. My budget is not too high and hence i do not want to buy any Lumia phones from 920 onwards.. i do not want 900 as it does not come with Win 8.

Does anyone know the evolution of Nokia lumia phones from older to newer.. AM asking this because i do not know which is the latest and better version before 920 came..

I also need advice on which one to for ? please suggest..

As far as i know these were the Lumia phones before 920/900 came 520, 620, 720, 810, 820, 822... if am missing out anything let me know and suggest me on best one..

Hi,

Lumia 920 was the first WP8 phone to be released with the 820 and the rest followed. The best of the budget is the 520 but for all rounder the new Lumia 625is good. All depends on your budget range what you willing to fork out!

Flipkart has updated prices - 920 is now around 27K, 920 black is a bargain for 24K. HTC 8x is around 20K last time I checked. Awesome prices, although I expect newer devices to come to India early next year,.

My budget is within 300$ or 20k ... I guess all the lumia versions before 920 fit in the budget price.. So budget is not the constraint here.. I want to know which lumia phone is the best bet among 520, 620, 720, 810, 820, 822 and 625

If you can get the 820, do. It's the same hardware as the 920 but without the super camera, with Amoled instead of LCD and with 8gig internal flash & an SD slot instead of 32gig flash and no SD slot. The other phones are all less powerful, but cheaper.

Some models like the 810 are carrier specific (and it's no longer being sold new.) So, start with the carrier he is or will be on. Only then can you consider phone models. When I decided to go WP, I did my research and discovered that no model for T-Mobile higher than 810 has replaceable batteries. End of discussion for the fancier ones. I bought a used, perfect condition on eBay for $190.

Hi. Do not exclude the HTC 8X!! Its slim, light, feels good and is IMO better than the similar Nokia offerings (920, 928, & 925, I like aluminum, but the screen on my 8X is sharper than on the others). Seems like its towards the bottom of your budget.. Hmmm.m

Just saying
