Lenovo X240 Released and Total Letdown!

Lenovo finally released their X240 and the Full HD and touchscreen options are gone!

I actually ordered until I looked at it more closely and released that the IPS option is not full HD and is not touch. And then had to cancel order.

I guess the T440? How could the product launch reviews change so much from the final product release?

Total bummer.

Can someone help me understand this?? Is the $250 more to buy a thicker laptop that doesn't last as long, and only has haswell? i seriously want to understand what Lenovo is smoking. also, whatever that product is, is it commercially available?

It has better quicker memory, the chip is probably twice as fast and has better integrated graphics, you couldnt buy ONE of those components for $250.

the ips screen is another 80 bucks--resolution is not that much higher with base! the i7 processor is another 320--not really faster than old i7, but way better battery life! and yes, agree about the memory is low voltage and faster, but now only has one dimm...so way more expensive. supposedly the chip set can handle 16 gb on one dimm, but they are saying 8 gb max.

help me understand!

Did u make a side by side comparison of the x240 screen with IPS and without IPS? Also, what about between x240 without IPS vs. the x230 screen? I'm trying to decide whether to get the x230 or the x240, because the x230 screen doesn't look uniformly clear. Also, should go for the x240, whether the screen without IPS is better than the x230 or do i need to go for the IPS? So far i haven't had a chance to compare them side by side.
