Do WP7 purchases transfer to WP8?

I'm pretty sure this is possible but simply want to confirm...that apps and games that I've bought on WP7, I can download them in WP8 without having to pay again right? Since they're linked to my outlook account, there's nothing preventing this from happening, correct?

Well that is not 100% correct as there are plenty of apps (especially games) that only work for WP7 not 8 so such apps will not work on WP8. There are also some apps like Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja that the developer choose to release on WP8 under different app ID so you need to purchase it again even if you own it on WP7. The alternative in these cases is to ask MS for a refund of the WP7 app so you can get the WP8 version, but then you won't have it on WP7 anymore.

So while in most cases you won't have issues with moving from WP7 to 8, there are some apps you might have a problem with.
