Question about custom sounds

I'm just arriving to Windows Phone 8 (Really just arriving. Yesterday.) I've got pretty much everything I want running the way I want. I've been looking into custom sounds on the phone but I'm looking through years of posts on the subject going back to WP7 and all the changes in between. Can someone tell me what the status is today on whether there is ANY way to get my custom sound files for notifications? I mean non-DRM audio files for the notifications on the phone. I don't even need it to be a different one for each app.

If u are talking about custom ringtones message tones &notifications under sounds in settings
U can copy the tone u want to ringtones folder in phone memory and select the one u want under custom

With GDR3, the latest OS update, you can have custom tones for:-

* New text/IM
* New voicvemail
* New email
* Reminders

Prior to GDR3, you only have scope to add custom ringtones.
