How do I check if my lumia is unlocked?

I have a Nokia Lumia 1020, I just received my unlock code from O2. I don't want to use it on another network right now, I just wanted it unlocked. I had a spare orange pay as you go SIM lying around so I cut it down to micro-sim size (before I inserted it into the 1020, I tested it on an iPhone to see if it was being read). I put it in the 1020, it restarted itself then asked for the unlock pin, I entered in the code and it said successful. I was just wondering if there was any way of testing to see if it has actually been unlocked, other than going out and buying a sim with credit on it and testing it.

Hey Sam, the only way to know for certain that it is unlocked is to put a sim card from another provider into it and see that it is working. Perhaps you can just quickly borrow one from one of your buddies? The fact that you got the unlock successful message though would indicate to me that it has in fact been unlocked. Otherwise you would have received an error message.
