help with backup

I have a nokia 928 that I just got. Under settings backup the section on text messages is grayed out and simply states syncing. How long should this take? Is this normal? Anything I could do to correct it? or? Thanks for any help you can give.

Have you verified that your Microsoft account is working properly? Go to Settings/email+accounts. You can try re-entering the password there. Have you tried doing a soft reset (hold down the power and volume up/down buttons until the phone restarts)?

I have done the soft reset, and I reentered my password under email accounts. Nothing changed as of yet. It is really kind of weird because at the moment text message backup is off and still says syncing.
