I will be making the switch this week to WP. What is the preferred method of getting my contacts from my HTC One to my WP? Right now they are backed up to Google. When going from one Android to another it usually all happens when I sign into Google Services but I don't know what is supported on WP.

If you buy Lumia device, Nokia offers contact migration tool. You pair phones with BT and app do the rest. Friend of mine use it to migrate contacts from Galaxy S2 without problems.

First, I feel I need to educate here. They are not backed up to Google. They are IN Google, they are just synced to your android.
