When will windows phone 8.1 be released ?

MS will announce it possibly at BUILD in April.

We'll receive it months after that.

I had read somewhere that the developer preview will be available on 2nd April and for the general public sometime around June.

What we are hearing is it'll be available at Build IF you are part of the developer program. Otherwise you are going to have to wait for it to go through your carriers.

If that's true that's nice. I though they would have did the same thing again allowing OEMs to release phones first prior to letting us get the update leaving us waiting.

Still, if you're not going for the dev preview that's still some wait.
