Syncing Playlists to Nokia Lumia

I have the Nokia Lumia 520. When I sync my phone through the Windows Phone Desktop app, I am given the option to sync certain playlists from my iTunes library to my phone. When I select the playlists, the songs sync just fine. However, when I got to Music + Videos, the songs show up, but the playlists do not. If I go through the Nokia Music app, every single playlist on my computer syncs to the device, even if I didn't select the playlist to be synced and even if it's empty.

Is there a way to get my iTunes playlists to sync properly?
