A logical explenation for this tile size going obsolete is that a higher resolution for icons might be required because of higher resolutions for Windows Phone devices.

Hmm, that information about Live titles being updated after a minute is both heavenly and hell, at the same time (mainly due to battery life though, heh).

I am so stoked that tiles will now be able to update every minute, this news alone makes it a worthy upgrade, but with support of HID with the file picker, notification center and voice assistant, this is what I have been waiting for. I hope that a third party file explorer app will be able to have access to downloads folder, and I will then be set.

I read something about that MS wants to equip the tiles with full HTML 5, so that you can actually see videos or scroll on a tile for more information. So the obsolete thing could also mean just old functionality.
