yes and no. If you have Dev Preview and you get 8.1, on the day of the public release you won't get it again. However, you do get firmware and other bug fixes as an update.

yes and no. If you have Dev Preview and you get 8.1, on the day of the public release you won't get it again. However, you do get firmware and other bug fixes as an update.

Well thats not true. Just go to the developer preview app and turn the switch off. Then you are back to "regular" updates and would receive the latest official update.

Well at least I had to in my Ativ-S and the GDR3. First I updated to the dev prev gdr3, than later date when the official wss out, I turned it off and was notified for the new update... Dont know anything else...

True! I'm excited! The upcoming news and official announcements will keep me happy until I can purchase new hardware by May

And then, while we are exited reading 4000 articles about out great wp8.1 is, and watching video about every little improvement, MS will set up the dev preview. And it we arrive sooner than we think (15th of april is already late april right???)

April 15th is more like mid April. If you want the Dev Preview I think you should be looking at a 20th to 30th of April time frame (as late April)
