Changes to Outlook.com possibly affecting Messaging Backups?

Yesterday I received an email from the Outlook team regarding changes to the messaging history folder in Outlook.com. Specifically they state that Messaging history folder will be removed, but that is where the text messages are automatically backed up to. I went into that folder and created a new backup folder and copied everything over to there, but now my texts are no longer on my phone.
Is anybody else aware of this? Am I possibly over reacting here?

Nope,
but what if you delete the account from your phone and setting it up again?
I had also a issue with a new subfolder, my Phone did not want to see it.
After i cleared the account from my phone and set it up again, it worked fine.

It does not work instantly, so give it some time to sync.

I started to just manually move everything back into the Messaging History folder which started to make my texts reappear on my phone, but in the middle of that, my backup folder is no longer accessible in Outlook, so, I've lost about 99% of my text messages. I don't want to go through a full reset of my phone, so I guess I'll just have to live with it.
