Developer preview in the first part of April

Noob question: Isn't the Dev Preview coming directly from MS? So is there a slight chance where we could start getting the updates before 14th?

Yes the dev preview comes directly from MS and we will get it way before the carrier will push it out. When I wrote that the OEM (Nokia,HTC...etc) will get the update in hand, we will probably get it ay the same time or just days after.

Realistically, 2nd half of the year depending which brand of phone you have and which carrier you are using (if it is branded).

So I signed up for the dev preview today and when I went to phone update, it said one was available. I freaked out cause I thought it was 8 1. But nope, after it downloaded, everything was the sane. I have no clue what that update was for, ha ha

Maybe because you have : 8.0.10501.127, 8.0.10512.142 or 8.0.10517.150 & the latest available is 8.0.10521.155 .

For example on my Lumia 520 I have 8.0.10517.150 .

Well , I have Lumia Black & have 8.0.10517.150 when the latest is 8.0.10521.155 so when I make Developer preview show me one update.
