better yet ,reset the phone on Sunday...install essential apps and be ready for Monday....that Way the "other" storage is also emptied before you install 8.1 .....that is my plan

same here... I'm hard-resting my phone so I can get clean installation of the new OS.

Think I'll do that... I may even just reset Monday morning, start afresh without a sim card (to prevent messages coming through), download the Dev Preview, install 8.1, reset again, and restore my backup with the sim in...

i myself is not a registered developer

u dont need to be invited,,,

I was going to keep the sim out so that no one can text me when I set it up as a new phone to install 8.1. Otherwise when I reset and restore my backup after installing 8.1, those texts I received won't be there...

I think Cortana, the parallax backgrounds, and backing up app data are all tied for 1st, with running apps of the SD as a close 2nd

Most likely press and possibly even internal beta-testers... but if Microsoft is ever looking for more I'm sure many of us wouldn't complain.

I was hoping to "hack" the server in the mean that I change the date to 14th of April and try to get the update but with no hope. Maybe someone else would have a luck with this method.
