You'll still need a at least a GB free so there's enough space for all the files to be unpacked until the update installs.

yea i do that and update my phone with DEVELOPER PREVIEW app.
so i able to use developer preview for 8.1?
but i don't register my phone with sdk application in pc . so it is compulsory to register phone with that application

just get yourself an app studio account then preview for developers app from the store then go check for update you will get a small firmware update and then wait for dev update to release

Indeed it does, but app installation of an SD card requires a Class 6 card or above.

i ordered a class 10 16gb sd card. damn excited,

I was wondering. Is there any reasonable reason (^^) for which the update would be released at a exact time (I mean 10 am, 11 am, 12 am,...). Or can it be release at like 12.34pm ?

Computer, phone, mofo motorcycle.
Heck i plan to run a benchmark before with 8.0 then after with 8.1 installed then again with 8.1 reset.
I'm hoping to see some difference yet wouldn't be surprised if there is none.
