Storage Check vs Storage Sense

First let me make it clear I'm talking about 2 different things:

Storage Check -- the Nokia app
Storage Sense -- the MS App that comes with WP8.1

Ok, that said, they are reporting different values.

Storage Check (Nokia) - 7.4 GB total (total doesn't add up because there are some other small things I'm not including)
Apps: 3.5 GB
Maps: 343 MB
Temp files: 125 MB
System: 1.9 GB
Other: 1.5 GB

Storage Sense (WP 8.1) - 7.5GB used total (total doesn't add up because there are some other small things I'm not including)
Apps+games: 4.5GB
Maps: 359 MB
System: 2.63 GB
Temp: 195 MB
Other: 79 MB

So the big discrepancy to me is that Storage Check is counting some apps+games and system files as "other" while the WP 8.1 app does not. I'm guessing that I should "trust" the MS one since it's newer. The Nokia app has pretty much always reported > 1GB of "other" use since I've had the phone.

Just wondering if anyone else is noticing the same thing?

True it's seldom right.
I've wiped stuff and had it tell me I had less room after the deletes.
