Battery life after 8.1?

Took mine out this afternoon to grab something to eat at the pub, they have free WiFi there, I was on 97% when I left, 20 minute journey, 30 minutes meal connected to their WiFi, checked battery on the way out the door, 38%

Checked battery stats, it says Store was using the most, but store wasn't even open while I was out, only the browser and emails

Almost 60% battery drain in less than an hour ?


EDIT - Just plugged it back in to charge and suddenly I'm back to 100% battery? WTF

Im thinking it's not draining the battery, but reporting it wrongly, you can't charge a battery from 38% to 100% in 3 seconds

928 here. Been off charger for 4 hours and I'm down to 69%. It seems worse then it used to be. However, I just got this device last week to replace my last 928 that could no longer read my SIM card, so I still need to give it a few more days. Kinda sucks I don't have a baseline.

battery sucks on my 920. from a day, it's come down to less than 12 hours with the same usage. Cortana enabled (India).
Amazingly, apps that i'm not using on my phone are showing heavy usage (even though some have been disabled).
Eg. Twitter (disabled), Mail, Internet Explorer (used only to check it for a minute or two max), Whatsapp (OK, I used it quite a bit but amazingly is not on the top list of battery usage), People, Store, WPCentral, Viber, Skype.

What crap is this???

I'm beginning to suspect the same, I 'lost' 23% by rebooting my phone. Today it started off the same as before 8.1, about 4 hours to drop to 95%, then about 5-7% an hour for the rest if the day. Turned battery saver off and letting it run down completely to see just how low it will actually get before shutting down.

Hey! So we all know how terrible the battery life is for our Lumia 920's! But after installing 8.1... Do you feel any difference in battery life? Does it seem worse, better or the same as before?

My standby time is better than GDR3 but my phone lasts about 8-13 hours it was 14-18 before. So it's quite bad, luckily I have a portable charger. Btw I'm in the UK so no Cortana. Whatsapp takes the most battery.

I tried Cortana for an hour and she is really fun to be with. Unfortunately, I must turn on "Location Service" for Cortana to work. So I uninstalled her by changing region again. Location Service + Cortana = Huge Battery Drain.

My 920 same issues, Cortana uses all of my battery. I turned off "Allow app to run in the background" in Battery Saver for Cortana, now is better!

Ok Ive worked out that WeChat on WP8.1 is absolutely sucking the life out of the battery, from 50%~ to 15% in just 20 mins~, and most of that was with the screen off, just running behind lock

Updated to 8.1 and now it seems like my battery drains twice as fast. Can't get through a normal day without a charger now.

My battery was terrible yesterday, but one of my email accounts wasn't syncing properly (particularly, I wouldn't stop syncing) and it destroyed my battery. Today is much better after I fixed it, but I'm still unsure if its overall better or worse.

Same here on my 1520, not as bad as yesterday but not as good on 8.0, I think Cortana always looking for location is one of the problems
