Does WP8.1 support change of primary alias of the Microsoft Account?

Windows Phone 8 could not handle the change of the primary alias of your Microsoft Account. If you changed your primary alias to a different one, you had to reset your phone to factory settings and start from scratch (http://winsupersite.com/outlookcom/...ges-impact-windows-windows-phone-and-xbox-360).

Question:
Can Windows Phone 8.1 handle changes of the primary alias without the need to revert to factory settings? Has anyone tried it?

I changed my primary alias and was unable to get my 8.1 phone to sync to the account without doing a hard reset.
