Yes it is available.. Don't get your hopes up... Don't see any "performance" improvement.

    Here's the official change log..
**see we pushed an update. Shut up already.

Its almost comical! Proof MS could care less what the end users want. Still no live tile, how hard is that?? Transparent tile at least....nope.

Now that MS owns Nokia how long till they kill Nokia mix?

Don't see this happening because (as far as I know) Microsoft doesn't have any sort of ownership of Nokia MixRadio. It, like HERE Services, is still owned by Nokia.

Loads fine for me, with over 2,000 songs on my SD card. But no live tile, no swipe forward or back (this is the thing I miss the most).

But I do have to admit, creating and managing playlists is far better on the phone than the old version.

They posted on Microsoft answers that an update will be pushed out April 22nd. But on April 22nd, the poster changed his post to say it's actually week of April 22nd. I used to think the Xbox music team is just incompetent, now I think they are not only stupid, but also arrogant and unethical.

Unethical? WTF! So they delay an update by a couple of days, and its the end of the world.

Software is frequently late, or just released buggy to hit a target date.

Well, I still get this garbage. It doesn't last as long, but still stupid and annoying. How hard is it to display a list of things stored locally on my device? It takes less time to load huge websites in ie.

The next Store release of the Music App is coming within the next 2 weeks. We will continue to update this site with coming features and releases, and if you haven’t, be sure to visit Xbox Music suggestion box: Windows Phone (712 ideas) – Xbox Music Suggestion Box and enter and vote for the features you want to see next.

    Thanks, The Xbox Music Team

Just thought I'd throw this out for you. I'm sticking to MixRadio for now till the next update - that one seems more... hopeful.

No update notification on my phone even after forcing update check. I went to the app link mentioned in wpcentral article. There it says " The app is not available for my device". What kind of sorcery is this?

It seems to work better, but there is a lot of work ahead. And I think until the public release of 8.1 the app will be much better. the only issue I had with 8.1 is the music app, and now that I see they are doing work on it, I see no reason to concern.

@SpaceyO: Are you using "transparency tiles" to launch the app? That was the reason for me. When launching it using the app's own tile, it worked.

Question - does anyone notice that Xbox Music frequently crashes/ does not load/ is slower when using the tile as created by Transparency Tiles?

well my slow app is now working faster, but still slow. They need to make it stop looking for music every time you do something

Yeah, from using it for a couple of hours, it is faster than it was but it's still not as fast as the previous app. It still searches for music anytime you leave the app. Also, on a few occasion, it would skip while playing songs.
