Extremely unresponsive suddenly

I'm running off Lumia 520 and I updated to 8.1 the day it was released for developers. It worked perfectly with no issues. Starting yesterday my phones touch screen (including touch buttons) have been freezing up, apps will not stay open, and it heats up.
I have reset it a few times. It starts working for about an hour then starts messing up again. Please help, I really do not wanna go back to WP8 if I even can because I'm to use to it haha.

Did u hard reset already? Or only soft resets?

I have only soft reset, hard resetting seems risky because I already had installation problems w/ 8.1 that caused my phone to go into a reboot loop

No, hard-reset is a need, not risky.

Does hard reset. Fix the Notification center problems and notifications if they dont show up
