    I updated no problem phone worked great for 5 days, all of a sudden no sim message, tried new sim, same issue, reset phone, that corrected it for 4 hours..

    Any ideas?? would the FULL version when available fix this??

    I've been having the same problem since the 8.1 update on my HTC 8X. Hopefully when HTC releases official updated ( as they've said they will) it will fix this issue - if the issue is isolated to HTC 8X

    I am having the same problem with my L920 WP8.1 developer preview on Rogers (Canadian carrier). Three times a day I do a hard reboot and it works for a bit, then I get a "sim card error".

    My phone is Lumina 920 (Vodafone, German) i have the same issue as well ... after upgrading to wp 8.1, sim card error occurs every 5 minutes after rebooting.

    I'm also having a SIM card issue after 8.1 Lumia 925 on AT&T. I've had to exchange two thus far. I'm not sure which one I fear more - rampant hardware issues or a software problem with 8.1 :(

    Has anyone found a solution for this issue .... Lumina 1520 randomly dropping off the cellular network with SIM error, no SIM card detected? Shut the phone off, wait 30 seconds, turn it back on, and the cellular connection is back, full service as if nothing had happened. Anybody??

    Same here, two 1020's I updated register no SIM now.... I can't find an answer to this anywhere so far, has anyone had any luck??

    To all ,, once a day I face this problem , then I try to fit SIM again ,, then it run and after 5minutes it show again a error ,,, then I just give some force on SIM socket and SIM will fixed and also forced on SIM,,, then no problems and I never face any problem regarding SIM error 😊 ,, really trust me , it's only because of fitting ,, just give a force to SIM and plz remove once SIM then please properly fixed Sim ,,, and enjoy ,,, from India

    I exchanged my sim card for a new one and it seemed to work (but have recently moved over to the L830)

    Im having the same issue - Nokia Lumia 920 - fully up to date - Orange EE - 3G UK carrier - since the 8.1 update - my sim card will work for a few hours if im lucky and then just suddenly disconnect showing sim error / no sim detected - doing a hard reset occasionally fixes this issue but not always and not for very long
    is there a fix for this or am i simply better off selling the phone and returning to android / iphone ?
