Battery Life On 1020

After 8.1 1020 battery dies in 5 hours with just checking few emails and texts and phone is getting hot too.
Should I try hard reset to see if that fixes this battery drain or not . I disabled cortina as that seems to suck lots of battery life .

You better try a hard reset. Battery decreased but not like you mention, just one the first days after 8.1 installation

Will hard reset improve the battery life a lot is that's what you noticed. Should I restore all my apps or install them again

Do not restore, do a hard reset and set the phone up as new instead of restore from backup when prompted. On my 1020 the battery is around 15-20% better after 8.1 but don't expect the gains straight away, give it a couple of days and a couple of FULL charges.

I'm considering switching from an iPhone to a 1020. Any idea on how the batter life compares to the iPhone? Can you get through a day with it? I don't do any media/games on it. Mostly just email and searches and of course phone calls.

Does you iPhone last a whole day? If yes, then the 1020 will last longer.
