First off, I'm not certain where exactly the problem I'm about the describe originates from (OS or App) so if it turns out to be an app related question, perhaps an admin could move the thread there.
I have found that if you want to post a photo to facebook that the upload fails if there are quoation marks (") in the message. It fails if you upload from the app, or from hitting "share" on the photo (which in 8.1 now brings you to the app). My wife was trying to post a picture and it took me a while to figure out why it was failing. It had a long message which included something in quotes. I did a test this morning of posting a photo with a single character caption (") and it failed, and so I am pretty sure this is the reason.
Is this something others experience?
PS it is hard to talk about quotation marks being the problem since you can't put anything in quotes!
