Still the same blue Windows 8 logo surrounded by black on my Lumia 1020. While not my favorite, I think it's better than the blindingly bright "Windows Phone" surrounded by a sea of blue on WP7.8/8. The new white text surrounded by black looks pretty solid, however.

Still, my favorite was the smooth animation upon boot on WP7.5 devices (not sure about earlier OS versions) where it had the Windows logo, with the "Windows Phone" text that would appear via a very smooth and very clean metro transition. It was gorgeous, I always found it awesome how one of the first things you saw upon boot was that Metro animation. I really miss that animation, to be quite honest. Still have an old Lumia 900 running WP7.5, and I boot it up sometimes just for old time's sake. That animation was DA BOMB!

So my hierarchy of boot up animations/logos is like so:

WP7.5 "Mango" > WP8.1 boot up being found on newer devices like the Lumia 630 > WP8.1 > WP7.8/8

It so easy, first go to app studio.com, then sign in using your hotmail (the same on your phone) after that install preview for developers from store and sign in, after doing that check for updates.
Note: You need to install 3 updates to get the 8.1

Come on.. Why do you need a new logo? You see it only once a few days for 2 seconds it doesn't add any value to productivity anyway..

Samsung ATIV S SGH-T899M still uses this, every 8.1 update did nothing to the boot logo.
