WP8.1 Does not recognize USB device?

Hey so I was just trying to transfger some music over to my Lumia 1020. I'm running 8.1 on my desktop and on my phone and whenever I plug it in it says the device cannot be recognized. How can I transfer my music over? D:

Go into devices on your desktop from the control panel and uninstall all of the fingers for Windows Phone, might also be some hidden ones. After that, plug your 1020 in and move the music over.
