how to fix battery drain

okay the issues with my battery has slowly imporved over time i used to have idle -7 to 9% but now i'm back to a stable -2 to 3% idle with 4g on. If i use any app like open whats app or go on twitter my phone instantly becomes hot and i start to lose about 1% per minute sometimes even more. I've turned off battery savour and not used lock orientation and i'm guessing that's what's brought my battery issues down somewhat but is this extreme battery drain for a lumia 920 the same for everybody or is there anything else besides a hard reset i can try because that's like my last resort but if it has to come to that i'm prepared to do so, that and reverting back to windows phone 8. thank you if you have any way to help me.

your device lacks a firmware update (cyan update ) which should resolve most of the battery issues you are having.

so the only hope for me is to wait for cyan cuz i've seen people who have much better results i guess it's just luck of the draw aye?

it depends on what apps were enabled for background , how often they use the phone
