Email account always syncing

Hello- today I did a hard reset of Windows Phone 8.1 on my Lumia 822. I setup my main email earthlink email account like I always do and not I cannot get the account to stop syncing. I set it to only sync the last 7 days worth of messages which it does but it always said it is syncing both in the program and when I look under accounts in the settings. I even set it to manually sync. It still will not stop syncing once I start it. Any suggestions? I did uninstall Skype as I read it fixed it for some but nothing has worked. I already did a hard reset twice and the problem still exists. Help please

If hard reset does not fix such issues I will suggest you to downgrade back to windows phone 8.0 via nokia recovery tool. There are many bugs in windows phone 8.1 so its better to wait for the final release

Another thing to check, make sure the date and time on your phone is correct.

Thanks- I ended up backing up all my email and then clearing out my inbox. Now the phone seems fine.
