I want to update my phone using pc (don't have access to WIFI right now :unhappy: ) and i was wondering can i use "Nokia Care Suite v5.0" to update ?

If you want to update your phone to Lumia black you can use Nokia recovery tool.
Nokia suite doesn't support WP, WP can be updated only OTA (over the air).

Doing so will certainly nuke the data on the phone (obvious to some)

I don't see why not, if it has the capabilities to flash a ROM, I don't see why it won't work. Just make sure you're getting the ROM you want.

Be careful though. Its an unknown for me, although I think I've done something similar on my 920. There's a relevant thread in the 920 section.

You can certainly FLASH your phone using NCS, but as it was mentioned above, you'll lose all your unsaved (un-backuped) data.
