Is it possible to get audible weather alerts. Is that something that is app specific if so which apps are capable of audible weather alerts. Living in Kansas part of tornado alley it is something I miss from my android phone.

I thought that was already supported. Check in your phone at this location:

Settings > Swipe to Applications > Messaging > Scroll down to Emergency Alerts

Make sure "Extreme Alerts" and "Severe Alerts" are on. Living in the mountains of TN, I rarely get any alerts. Too bad there is no way to test it to see how it sounds.

All turned on. Maybe it has to be Bing Weather.

The Weather Channel and AccuWeather apps seem to support severe weather alerts. I'd say give them a shot too.

Bing, Weather Channel, and Accuweather support toast notifications (except for my Accuweather seemingly ). I'm not sure outside of toast notifications what would be available.

That being said, if the have the 8.1 DP then you could set your own alert tone for the app.
