screeching coming from speakers

so i downloaded the new update for the 8.1 DP on a 920 before Microsoft stopped the update yesterday and twice today my speakers just randomly started screeching through my headphones and through the speakers when I was listening to music or on a Skype call anybody else encounter this problem?

*update* volume controls don't show up and no sound plays at all anymore Xbox music and nokia mixradio keeps crashing

I have Windows 8.1 installed and just updated my system with 11 new updates and this is when the noise from the speaker started on 08-13-2015. I have tried changing the audio quality settings and it does not help. I assume this is a conflict with software with Sony drivers and the new Windows updates. Not a happy camper since I cannot fix it.
