Text Message Threads

I've noticed now on 8.1 when I respond to a text message thread it sends me a message too. So I ended getting a text msg alert because I'm receiving my own msg. Also it means double message in the thread. Is this a bug? How can I change it back to the old way?

Try going into settings in the messaging app and unchecking the confirmations.

I went to setting, scrolled over to applications and then to messaging. However, I do not see "confirmations".

I did that too. All I see is text back up, group text and SMS center number.

Here are my messaging settings. On mine I have options for confirmations for SMS and MMS delivery confirmation, and MMS acknowledgement. I have them all turned off and don't get any extra texts. The group text settings are right past this.

Are you running 8.1 (cyan)? I currently am but I didn't have this problem before the update.My settings screen looks nothing like yours.

I have 8.1 (cyan), but mine came with it (635), so maybe there is a difference if it was updated? That's interesting. I'm on T-Mobile.
