Microphone woe's

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum, so be gentle lol.

I just upgraded the software on my Nokia Lumia 1020 using the developers preview. The problem I have now is that my Microphone has stopped working. I cant speak to Cortana, the speakerphone is not working and I cant hear sound on recorded videos.
These were all working before the update from windows phone 8, apart from Cortana, which wasn't there. I have tried a soft reset, a hard reset and everything in-between. Still no microphone. I have done some research on the net and it seems I'm not the only one that's now got this problem.

The trouble is, no one seems to want to admit there is an issue, therefore no advice as how to fix it.

Please help.

Put your phone back in an older state. Afaik there is a tool for Nokia phones that does this. After you've done that, retry the update

I've already tried that using the Nokia software recovery tool. My phone reverted back to windows phone 8. The problem still remains. Knowing that the microphone worked before updating to 8.1 leads me to believe that the issue was caused by the developers preview.
