Joe Belfiore would have tweeted about it if it was fixed. "Some users are reporting" which users are those? Sources? If not then "Check and report us" fits perfectly as a request.

Just tried within the past 30minutes... still fails. Nokia Lumia 822 (Verizon).

I'm guessing they will have to release another update that will free up space on the install partition first.

It's typical of Microsoft to announce something and then left it hanging with no further updates for weeks/months.

This is not the best way to encourage new devs onto the platform!
Personally I'd appreciate an update that says more than 'we're working on it but have nothing else to share'.
No news is even worse than bad news, like maybe it will take several weeks to fix this, or we have no plans to fix it after all.
