Is windows phone 8.1 update officially out?

Hi All,

A bit confused here. I have the developers preview installed and also have the latest update 1. Is there an official windows phone 8.1 update (those who don't have the developers preview)?

A friend of mine has lumia 720 and he prefers waiting for the official 8.1 update rather than using the developers preview. But till date, when ever he updates his phone, it says 'phone up to date'.

I thought it was mentioned a few months back that the official windows 8.1 will be rolled out for all windows devices? Did it happen?

I don't know myself, seeing as I saw the same thing. I got the latest Preview update you received, but my friend who has a 920 says his phone is up to date as well.

Frankly, I don't understand, what does confuse you?
8.1 is out for some phones in some countries. You can check for its availability at Nokia's site here.
Maybe it's just those inaccurate posts where authors mention WP8.1 whilst they mean WP8.1 PD?

I have two mobiles one with developer account and other without .. they both have 8.1 so I think its out now
