All MS needs to do forthwith is FINISH the WP OS to current and on or above par with IOS and Android and then advertise, advertise, advertise. The only way that anyone will entertain taking any WP out for a spin is to show its features. There are 0 cars sold on word of mouth alone, for that matter NOTHING is sold on word of mouth alone, everything needs an advocate to be on the minds of any and everyone. Hurry up with the completion of the mobile OS and then show it off, CORTANA!!! Why do people constantly buy Apple's iPhone when it's just the same phone design with more polishes to its OS. Why did people buy the iPhone 5 when it was just a move from 3." to 4" in screen and a processor change?? They bought it because the OS just works and what features they have either hardware or software Apple simply improves to give the user a cleaner, smoother experience that if Apple decided to build a 7" monster as a mobile device people will still line up around the corner for hrs to buy it.

MS just hurry up and finish the OS and somehow find a way like Apple to have your OS updates released all around the world at the same time. Tell me something, does AT&T,SPRINT,VERIZON,T-MOBILE and whoever else in AMERICA not use Windows PCs in their corporation offices??? Why trust the MS operating PCs to run your businesses but find it hard to release updates to smartphones a little bigger than the mouse you use to click send/submit?

The OS is the most complete and polished of the three. The applications are the issue. Not the OS by any means.

Are you referring to the same OS that didn't have a notification centre, home screen background, swipe keyboard, customizable lock screens, sense whether it be data, storage,wi fi or battery are a few that have been present for sometime in other OSes. All I'm saying is that MS needs to complete the rollout of the finished WP8.1 OS and then get OEMs to come onboard to really get consumers' attention.

IMO it will always be thought of as incomplete no matter what. its compared on the yardstick of what iOS and Android have, but hardly what it has over the other two.

Apps?? How can there be more Apps if the OS isn't one from past responses been one to encourage any of the other OEM makers to come onboard based on consumer demand for the WP OS. In order for APPS to improve or increase the OS has to be one that people are talking about and WANT, when that happens then hardware makers will then be persuaded to come onboard such as SONY and then we can seriously talk about getting devs to release apps to IOS,ANDROID and WP at the same time and these Apps' functionality will not differ between each OS as we've seen to date.

Agreed!! That's what I'm saying (xandross9). MS needs to get it to where both IOS and ANDROID stand right now in terms of OS features and functionality and then consumers will have a true choice. Show off the Live Tiles more, show off the start screen background, CORTANA and her vast functions etc. Makes little sense trying to gain share with an OS that is still seen as trying to catch up to OSES that right now are seen as the finished article and are making updates to add more and improve upon what is already there.

Lol says the guy who is comparing it to an OS that still doesn't have predictive texting or a swipe keyboard outside of betas, still doesn't support nfc, and still doesn't have data storage, and STILL doesn't allow you to change the lock screen, except for a picture.

No OS is every "complete"
