Advice from the WP Community

Hi Everyone,

I currently use an iPhone 6 as a daily - i love it and will probably continue using it as a daily. I do need a back up phone in case anything happens to my phone. Not a big fan of Android..but curious about the Lumias. I used to have the 1020 but sold it due to the camera being extremely slow. i also had a L521 but it was giving me a lot of errors when getting emails and it was laggy - also no LTE was a deal breaker. Both are long gone now and I only have the iPhone 6 as a phone.

I am looking into a L635 or a L735 as a back up phone (and maybe switch back and forth with my iPhone). Which is a better buy? I am on T-Mobile in the states.

If I go with 635 i will buy used for around $65-$70. If it's the 735 i will buy it from B&H site.

Both phone comes with same processor except the difference in RAM and cameras...but are those difference enough for a $200 price difference? Or should I wait until MWC and see what they announce and hopefully the 635 and 735 prices drops even more? I'm afraid the 735 will not get the WIN10 update as I read through the boards that people have not received the update yet in developer preview...

any suggestion? Thanks

There are a good handful of applications that require 1GB of RAM, so for that reason and the better camera, you may want to consider the 735. Those two things are the only major differences.

735 has a 312 ppi 720p OLED display compared to 480x854 218ppi LCD display of 635

I've had the 635 and I now have the 735. I'd recommend the 735. Much better looking screen and much better protection against fingerprints. More RAM. Great phone!

as a backup, the 635 is great.

but if you have money and are looking at something more of a main device to better stand up to the iPhone, the 735 is great.

the 635 is a whole lot cheaper though. but the 735 is a lot better quality and has some more bells and whistles than the fairly Spartan 635.

I will probably go for the 635. The reason I wanted a 735 is broad I had a N9 and it reminded me of it. Does the 635 have free maps and downloadable maps onto phone so data is not needed? Thanks !
